In 1913 in front of the Anichkov Palace the 'Picadilly' cinema was opened. In 1932 it was renamed the Avrora. It brings you some of the finest films in international cinema.
The cinema was recently renovated and a new sound system (Dolby Digital) was installed together with a new 100 square meter screen.
The repertoire consists of the best Russian and more than a few foreign movies. The cinema also organizes meetings with distinguished members of the Russian cinema industry. Enjoy the 'love seat' (double seat without middle arm rest)
It was the first cinema hall in St. Petersburg, some years ago Avrora was completely rebuild and now it is the biggest cinema hall in the city. Avrora is popular because of reasonable prices: 50- 150 roubles (- ) and location in the very center of the city.
Besides, Avrora provides the best sound in the city, due to the modern high- fi audio system.
