Message to Man

The annual festival of documentary, short and animated films "Message to Man" is organized by the International Federation of Associations of Film Producers (Paris).

They help film producers and enthusiasts from all over the world establish contacts, share experience and ideas. Main events include: International Debut Competition, Russian Documental Films Competition and various Special Presentations at cinemas Dom Kino, Avrora, Svet and Mirage.

Message to Man was established as the International Non- Feature Film Festival by State Committee of Cinematography of the USSR, Filmmakers' Union of USSR, State Television and Radio Committee of USSR and the Executive Committee of the Leningrad City Council in December 1988.

The first Message to Man took place in January 1989. At the beginning, it was held once in two years. Now it happens annually. The main competition had included the special nomination for the best debut until 1994.
