Russian Ballet 'Exercise'

Opera and ballet have long been the bedrock of St Petersburg's cultural tradition.

One of the premiere events on the impressive calendar of Russian dance, the Exercise is a festival targeted towards the improvement of all aspects of choreography and dance in Russia.

Those simply wishing to see some world- class dance will not be disappointed: this is a huge showcase for top- flight choreographers like Emio Greco, whose 2000 interpretation of Ravel's “Bolero became the talk of the town.

Russian Evenings become traditional with this festival. Young choreographers and performers from Saint- Petersburg and other cities of Russia participate in the event.

This very important festival contributes to the forming of the professional dance community. But above all it gives the participants powerful stimulus for further work and comprehension of the obtained ethical and dance principals.

Tickets are sold for individual events and vary in price; academic discussions require conference registration.
