St. Petersburg police investigate shooting

St. Petersburg police are investigating an attempted homicide that occurred just after midnight. Officers responded to a person shot at 330 Indiana Court S., in the Big Bayou neighborhood, at 12:01 a.m. Once there, they found Jeremiah C. Powell, 20, of St. Petersburg, shot once in his upper torso, police said. Powell was listed in critical condition at an area hospital. There were no suspects in the shooting.
