Nestled away in a relatively quiet part of the city with some stunning views of a city park complete with beautiful trees and picturesque pond, 7.40 features home cooked Jewish cuisine.

The restaurant welcomes all those who are prepared to appreciate the ancient tradition of Jewish cuisine. The restaurant is fancifully decorated in Russian avant- garde style and themes from Jewish life over the past century complete with old furniture and paintings add to its charm.

7.40 has two halls with one smaller hall suited for small business meetings and negotiations. Guests can enjoy a fine selection of wines including kosher Israeli wine, or French, Georgian, and South African wines, with their meals.

Skilled chefs prepare all meals according to ancient Jewish traditions. House specialties include stuffed fish, "forshmak," "Saturday Veal," small pies or "pirozhki" filled with sauerkraut, and mushroom soup. There is also a large selection of vegetarian dishes. Guests are also treated to live music including Jewish songs and melodies performed by a trio on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.
